What should I bring to a session?
As there is usually an element of exercise involved, please wear exercise attire, and bring any medications that you may require on the day.

Please bring current medical reports to your initial interview. Documents can also be emailed through to irene@prophysiology.co.uk before your first session.
Do I need to be referred by a doctor?
No, you do not need a GP referral to come to Pro Physiology. However, once assessed if your condition needs your GPs or specialists’ clearance for exercise they may be contacted before exercise sessions proceed.
What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist?
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a university qualified allied health professional. An AEP specialises in providing safe, effective, and evidence-based exercise to help manage people living with chronic conditions, injuries, or disabilities.

Many exercise physiologists work together with physiotherapists, GP’s, and specialists to provide the best long-term management for chronic conditions.
What is the difference between a Physiotherapist and an Exercise Physiologist?
There are many similarities between the two however their areas of expertise differ. Physiotherapists tend to focus on diagnosis of acute injuries with a focus on pain reduction and restoring function. Accredited Exercise Physiologists are experts in evidence-based exercise interventions and focus on long term management of chronic disease and prevention, injury, and disability.
